Concrete Stitch Drilling
Stitch drilling creates large openings and slots in concrete walls and floors, particularly where access is difficult or restricted.
Stitch drilling uses a series of overlapping core holes to form the opening required. It's the method we reach for when other drilling and sawing techniques can't achieve the outcome, whether that's because of depth, access, or the shape needed.
The benefits of stitch drilling
- It picks up where standard diamond drilling stops. Single-pass drilling is often limited to around 1500 mm, so stitch drilling takes on the bigger jobs.
- It works in confined spaces and reduced access. If a particular shape needs to be achieved where other methods can't get the angle, a curve or the geometry, stitching handles it.
- There's effectively no size limit. Openings and shapes of any size, through any thickness of wall or floor, formed from a series of overlapping cores.
- It suits smaller openings where sawing isn't practical, or where the substrate is simply too deep for standard sawing methods.
- It's a strong choice in controlled or clean environments. Cutting waste is reduced and by-products are far easier to contain, which is why it's often the preferred method on industrial sites, in hospitals, schools and public areas.

No practical limit. Because the opening is formed from a series of overlapping cores, it can pass through any thickness of wall or floor.
Is stitch drilling low vibration?
Yes, which is a large part of why it gets specified. There's no percussive impact into the surrounding structure, so it suits sensitive, occupied and heritage buildings.
